Lichfield Cathedral is set within a remarkable Close and there is much to occupy the visitor. The 800 year old Cathedral, the third building on the site has a fascinating history. Its treasures include the 8th century St Chad Gospel's, 16th century Flemish Glass, monuments by Chantrey and Epstein and the 20th century Lang Lichfield Silver Comission. This pattern of services pertains to term-time. During school holidays services are normally sung only at weekends. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays services are sung respectively by girls’, men’s and boys’ voices. On bank holidays the pattern changes slightly.
